Shrub, Acanthus Family.
Blooms began in February, occurs in southeastern California to northern Baja California and southwestern Arizona to northwestern Sonora.
Low shrub with triangular leaves and soft stems.
Grows in desert washes. Pollinated by hummingbirds migrating up from southern Mexico.
