(Calycoseris wrightii)
Annual, Sunflower Family.
Blooms March-May, Arizona into northern Sonora. The similar, yellow Calycoseris parryi occurs in California.
6-8 inches (15-20 cm) high, single leaves with thread-like lobes from a basal clump. Tac-shaped glands cover the stems.
Common along roadsides, mesas, plains and rocky slopes. Tips of the petals have a saw-toothed edge. The bloom resembles the larger-flowered desert chicory (Rafinesquia neomexicana).
