Common names: belly flower.
Annual, Sunflower Family.
Blooms in the spring in southern Utah, Arizona, southern California and Sonora, Mexico.
1-3 inches (2-8 cm) high, flowers have violet undersides, pink and lavender tints on top with dense clusters of single, smooth-edged leaves.
Likes sandy, stony and sunny exposures, grows close to the ground.
